New Pro User: unable to add track to baseboard

I'm a new user and gave invested in pro.

I'm not new to the software but having just added an L shape baseboard I can't then add track to it. I get a message stating 'track can't be added to a baseboard or image layer'.

Could someone kindly advise what I'm doing wrong?

I assumed I could create a baseboard size so my track planning remains within the parameters of my room restrictions.

Hello Will,

as per our recent email conversation: Baseboard layers can contain only baseboard elements.
You can select a plain tracks layer in the Layer List to the right to insert tracks or shapes!
