Add TrixBrix Catalog to RailModeller

Post by gegles »

Hello,

First off, thank you for all the work on RailModeller — it’s a fantastic tool for planning layouts!

I wanted to ask about the possibility of adding the TrixBrix product line to the RailModeller track library catalog.
• TrixBrix produces a wide range of custom Lego®-compatible train tracks and accessories:
Official TrixBrix site
TrixBrix Track Planning resources
Their catalog is already available in BlueBrick, which has the full set of parts:
BlueBrick

That got me wondering:
• Could the existing BlueBrick catalog for TrixBrix be directly converted into a RailModeller catalog?
• If not directly, what would be required in order to make this happen?
• Are there specific data formats, image specs, or licensing considerations that need to be addressed?

I’m a software developer myself and would be happy to help with any conversion or data preparation that might be needed to make this possible.

Thanks for considering — I believe adding TrixBrix would be a great enhancement for the community!

Best,

Guillaume

Hello Guillaume,

last time I've talked to them they were not interested in providing specs.

Personally I don't have the time and resources to reverse-engineer the BlueBrick file format for what is an extreme niche (and mostly used by users of the free Express Edition).

Hope this helps,
Jan
