Hello everyone!
I saw a great video on YouTube that showed how to use images to design complex Baseboards in Adobe Illustrator and then place them as images in the layout document.
I tried and now I have a doubt and a problem.
– THE DOUBT
I exported the layout image after zooming it to 100%, I did the export keeping the layers separate and the background transparent.
Export is perfect!
However, when I go to import the image it is smaller even though, after resizing it is perfect in size and proportions.
Question: is it possible to export in .PSD format so that the processed and imported image is already the right size?
– THE PROBLEM
“Add Image” creates a dedicated layer.
The problem is that I can't position the image layer among the others; he won't let me move it.
The layout is a multi Deck project, I would therefore need to position, and make visible if necessary, the appropriate image layer.
– A CURIOSITY
Is it possible, when in an image layer, to deselect the image itself?
Is always selected...
Thank you so much, see you soon

Re: Export the layout in 1 to 1 and place the image layer among the others
Hello,
At a zoom factor of 100% each pixel in the exported image is equivalent to 1mm in layout scale, i.e. for a 1x1m layout exported at 100% the created image will be 1000x1000 pixels in size.
An imported image can be edited using the image tools, e.g. to position or resize it.
When the image layer is selected the image size in layout units can also be entered directly in the image properties in the sidebar to the right.
The section 'Working With Images' in the user guide also goes into more detail.
All the best,
Jan

Re: Export the layout in 1 to 1 and place the image layer among the others
Dear Jan,
Thanks for the reply!
I read the User Guide and, as I thought, the image layers are forced to be below the layout design layers; this has its own logic although for Multi Deck projects it would be convenient to group all the levels referring to a specific Deck.
Thank you so much, see you soon
