How to measure a Paralel Track that already exists?

Hello everyone!

RailModeller Pro has an awesome feature which is “Add as Parallel Track”!

However, if you want to measure the distance between two already laid, existing tracks, how can you do it?

Thank you so much, see you soon

You can use the Measure tool available when editing a layer containing tracks, accessories or shapes:
The Measure tool provides a tape measure for measuring distances in the layout.

It also snaps to joints of tracks or baseboard corner points and can be restricted to a multiple of a 45-degree angle while holding down Shift.

Hope this helps,

Dear Jan,
thanks for the reply, but I can't do what you explained to me; not because I didn't understand it but for two reasons:
  • being a disabled person I am not always precise in managing the mouse;
  • it is practically impossible, or I don't know how to do it, to identify the exact center of two tracks.
A different thing, however, would be to have a function which, once two tracks have been selected, identifies the intertrack: the distance between the two centers of the tracks.

You could place this function under the one called “Add as Parallel Track” and it could be called “Measure the intertrack”.

Thank you so much, see you soon
