Add vs select
- Sometimes I cannot add track to a selected piece of track I just added. It highlights as if it will be added, but it doesn't add when clicked. I have to click in empty space to deselect in order to add track.
- Very small pieces of track do not seem to have a "selection" zone (e.g. 10080 straight and smaller), only an "add" zone. The only way I have found to select these tracks is to drag-select. Even once drag-selecting, I sometimes end up adding track rather than dragging the item. This is especially a problem when I'm trying to remove a small track from a gap - I can end up with multiple small pieces added on top.
- Sometimes the '+' icon gets stuck. After this adding tracks to the indicated track doesn't work reliably.
- Could 'esc' be used to deselect the current selection?
Shift-select selects all pieces of track from the currently selected track to the added track, if and only if only one piece was already selected.
- Is there a way to choose whether I want to add one piece or several? Command-click (the usual Mac OS way to "add one" rather than "add group" doesn't seem to work. Sometimes I actually want two discrete pieces. (Workaround: shift-drag-select the 2nd track using the marquee)
- Is there a way to add a chain if I already have multiple selections? Example: I want the chain A-B, plus the branch that comes from half-way between A & B
- If I have a loop, is there a way to use shift-select to select the entire loop? It seems to just choose the shortest path?
- shift-select always extends selection by all connected tracks (if possible)
- shift-drag adds to selection as per normal marquee rules
- cmd-select always selects single track - this forces selection mode even if it would otherwise 'add'
