Flex track costing
Hi, hope you can help. I have created a layout and adding the cost of the components with the exception of Peco flex track. Is there anyway of adding in the cost per metre and have the program calculate the overall cost based on the combined length used?

Re: Flex track costing
You can enter the price for the flex track article in the Part List and have the app calculate the total.Aliritchie wrote: ↑17 Jan 2022, 16:24 Is there anyway of adding in the cost per metre and have the program calculate the overall cost based on the combined length used?
Adding up the combined track length for a specific flex track article can be done (assuming all layers in question are unlocked and visible) by selecting one of the flex tracks, then apply Select > Similar Elements and refer to the section length field in the Info panel in the sidebar to the right (Element Tab). The text label is also selectable and copyable as text.
Note that you would need to have access to an infinite flex track to just use the combined length as it doesn't take scrap/clippings into account.
The issue is explained in more detail in the "Flex track calculator for cut of rest bits" feature request:

It's on our to-do list for an upcoming update.
Hope this helps,
Jan

Re: Flex track costing
It’s a bit of a pain but I recently wanted to check my flexi track inventory against my latest laid track plan.
I duplicated my track diagram, changed its title and save the result.
The next step was to delete all none flex track sections.
I was then able to view; in the righthand panel; the length of track remaining.

Selecting a flex track and using Select > Similar Elements should yield the same result without modifying or duplicating the track plan.
Cheers,
