Grade and track height

Post by apuntsel »

Hi,

Is there a way to create a gradient and verify that it is not to steep? It is from a turnout to curved tracks heading to a straight section. The straight section height is at 6 inches and then it basically goes back down to the table height.

In some places it shows my track at a negative elevation.

Thanks, Arno

Hello Arno,

You control the gradient as it's part of the parameters you enter when creating a grade to a track.
For full control of the grade over the entire range of the track section you can also use the Grade a Track Section for a contiguous section of tracks. The manual goes into much more detail in the Track Heights and Grades section.

Constraints like max. allowed gradients or min. height difference at crossovers are on the to-do list for a future update.

Hope this helps,
Jan
