Bug: 'close gap' screen disappears when losing focus

When RailModeller is searching for a connection using the 'close gap' function, and you switch to another application, or even click on the layout, the searching window disappears. But it does keep searching in the background. This becomes obvious when after some time suddenly a popup appears saying no connections were found, and it is also confirmed by the cpu usage.

And because the search window disappears, it means you can even start a second search while the first one is still busy. I think this is the cause of some application crashes where I had multiple searches going simultaneously.

So I think..
1) the search window should stay open when it loses focus
2) the 'close gap' menu option should be grayed out while the search window is open

This is in beta 4 by the way.

Also the application sometimes crashes when you try to quit RM while it is searching.

This has changed a bit... When the window loses focus, it cancels the search and shows a message "connection not possible, no connection with X tracks was found." This is incorrect of course, the message should simply say that the search was cancelled due to losing focus or so.

But it's better than the former behavior, where it continued searching while the search window had disappeared, sometimes resulting in high cpu usage that could not be cancelled other than by completely exiting RM.

Ideally though the search would continue when losing focus. For example, I would prefer that it's possible to momentarily alt-tab to another application and then go back to RM and have a look at the search results.

Issues with 'Close gap' should have been fixed in the official MAS version 5.0.3 -
any remaining issues please send with the layout in question to our support e-mail so I can have a look & fix it.

Thanks,
Jan

Well I tested it with 5.0.4 beta 1. And I don't know if this behaviour (where the search is cancelled when losing focus) is by design or a bug.
