Open ".LayOut" files

I am having a problem with Rail Modeller Pro 6.0.9 which I purchased from the App Store.
My iMac 27" late 2009 vintage running OSX 10.13.6 will no longer open ".Layout" files.
What has changed?
Rail Modeller Express will open them. I can create a file in Rail Modeller pro but cannot re-open it after I save it.
Anyone else having this problem?
I have also tried to download a community layout with no success.

Unable to open saved designs

I am a new user.
I have saved some designs in Version 6.0.9 to my iMac 27" late 2009 running mac OSX 10.13.6

When I try to open my files I have saved, the message Rail Modeller pro cannot open ".layout" files.
If I right click and use "open with" Rail Modeller Express will open the files.
Am I not saving my files correctly?
This is really frustrating when I have spent several hours creating a plan that I cannot open several days later.

I have not had any success downloading community layouts either. They don't down load.
Please advise me if and what I doing wrong when saving.
Cheers,
Warwick

Hello Warwick,

this message can occur when SketchUp and RailModeller Pro are both installed on the same Mac as they both claim the .layout extension.

What usually helps is deleting RailModeller Pro and redownloading it from the Mac App Store
(as you've purchased the app already you can of course download it as many times as you like to any of your Macs at no additional cost)

Some users also had success deleting only the Layout app from the SketchUp collection of apps.

Hope this helps,
Jan

I'm having the same issue with the PRO version, and the express version works just fine.

This is crazy and needs to be fixed ASAP.
