A few newbie questions

I'm using the free version. I'm 99.99% certain I'm going to get the paid version but want to kick the tires for a few.
The big question is on grades. I enter a piece of curved flex track. I want to set a grade. I'm not really sure on if I'm doing it right. I have two connected pieces, I set an arbitrary start and end height and it claims it has a 13-odd percent grade.
WHen I click on 3d view it's all the same height. Which brings me to the 3d view. How do I get an isometric view? It seems to just give me a side-on view.

Hi Brammy,

At the moment grades are displayed in per-mille (1/1000) but we'll soon add an option to customize the format to accommodate for regional preferences.
(see also feature request Customizable display type when showing grades)

Did you confirm the height edit operation by closing the dialog with
Apply?
You can turn the sideways view on from the toolbar:

Thanks. I'm still confused though.
Below is a screeenshot of how I'm trying to do this. So far, all Ive managed to do is elevate the middle section 4" off the baseboard.
Also, in relation to flex track, how can I have a mostly straight section of flex with a little jog near the end?

No worries - Maybe this post (going into details with grading tracks) helps:

We've also created a tutorial on this topic:

Flex tracks can be freely bent by double-clicking the track (or using the
Element > Edit menu command) and then moving the handles.
Hope this helps,

AHA!
Thanks.
For some reason, even though I *thought* I laid the track correctly, they weren't properly connected. Now I was able to enter in a start and end value for a range of tracks!
Thank you!
