Well I tested it with 5.0.4 beta 1. And I don't know if this behaviour (where the search is cancelled when losing focus) is by design or a bug.

Just testing 5.0.4 beta 1. Entering text works, but consecutive added lines are smaller. The first text is 24 pt, the next one is 12 pt, the next one is 6 pt and everything after that is 6 pt as well. When creating a new file, the first line of text is 6 pt again. I have a fixed table as well and as a workaround I have drawn the table in a separate layer, using the shape tools, and then locked the layer. Works for me.
